First, I would like to acknowledge Lucy's family and their grief, for it is a terrible thing to lose a sister, a daughter. But Ann's book was necessary in order to more clearly understand the complex nature of the author of Autobiography. It was an open, honest and elegant memoir, and it was clearly written with love. Furthermore, it is an important book, allowing Lucy's fans the rare opportunity to see the face behind the veil. Suellen Grealy would be surprised to know that despite Ann's torrid revelations, it is no less beautiful than it was before. I have just finished reading Truth and Beauty. I swear, I'll be in bed at night and they keep coming in to "tell me something"...aaahh! Everyone needs a break--of course, I worried about my sister-in-law because she only has one child--I was afraid her ears would fall off with my three--8, 12 and 13! My beautiful children just returned from three days at their aunt’s house–I missed them, but did not miss the non-stop TALKING! As a parent (which I am not) I imagine you need these small snippets of time to recharge and relax away from the drama for a bit. Concentrate on a few of the things that you enjoy. We all need it! I have a very good relationship with my 11 year old. I enjoy her company. And I really don't miss her much when she's gone.
