Book Travels in January 2009

images1Nan at Letters from a Farm Hill and Wendy at Musings of a Bookish Kitty post monthly Travel Reports on where their reading lives take them, so borrowing that idea (or is it stealing, since I didn’t ask?) I wanted to share with you where I’ve been in January.

I’ve been to a burn unit with a pornographer who’s been horribly disfigured from a car accident and then falls in love with a crazy (or IS she?) sculptress, I’ve been to Pennsylvania trying to survive in a cold gloomy world with a teenage girl and her family after the moon has been pushed off course, I’ve been to Forks, WA falling in love with a gorgeous undead boy who wants to bite me, I’ve taken a wonderful cooking class at a beautiful place called Lillians and learned about the healing powers of food, and I’ve traveled back and forth from the ghettos of New Jersey to the Dominican Republic with a nerdy fat boy.  I’ve also been to the upstate New York hometown of a writer who become famous/infamous for killing his ex girlfriend and then himself (haven’t gotten around to reviewing that one yet!).

So I’ve mostly stayed in the US, with a quick trip to the Caribbean.

What a month!!  Where have you been?

  1. I love this type of post! I’ve seen something like “where are you reading wednesday” with a button that’s a globe of the world (sorry if I got the meme name wrong). I always enjoy reading the posts because the reader/blogger puts herself in the book (“I’ve been to a burn unit with a pornographer” … bet you don’t get to say that often! 🙂

I haven’t joined in yet, but maybe when I get some wanderlust I will!

  2. I was drinking Mojitos with you in Santo Domingo!

  3. What a great idea! I would love to be a part of the February travels

  4. Fun idea ~ I’ll have to post my “reading travels”

  5. whew! that was fun.

  6. This is a fun idea! I wish there was one of those maps that you could post on your blog like they have on travel blog sites, where you can put in where you have traveled, not literally, but instead through books! Maybe there is and I don’t know about it?

  7. That is really cool! I may include it in my monthly roundup. I was in Barcelona in January. Thanks for sharing the idea 🙂

  8. Love this! I think you may have started something here … 🙂

  9. I love these travel posts. They’re awesome!

  10. What a great idea. And hmmmm…maybe I’ll get some travel ideas!

  11. Yay! I am glad you decided to do a travel report too, Lisa. I don’t mind you borrowing the idea at all. It’s fun to see where you’ve been throughout the month. And it looks like you had one busy month book wise!
